Course Overview

This course is intended for an operator, technician, engineer or programmer who must set up, teach, test, and modify Arc Welding applications and processes using the WeldPRO software addition to RoboGuide, FANUC’s 3D robot simulation software.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to design, create, and modify a 3D workcell specifically tailored for Arc Welding applications. Students will learn to use FANUC’s RoboGuide software with the WeldPRO addition to build Arc Welding application workcells. More specifically:

  • Create 3D Arc Welding workcells
  • Edit robot properties, features, and options
  • Adding parts to the workcell from RoboGuide as well as CAD design files
  • Adding End-of-arm tooling from RoboGuide files and/or CAD design files
  • Create, Modify, and Troubleshoot Arc Welding programs within the 3D workcell
  • Monitor, force, and simulation of Inputs and Outputs
  • Production execution in the 3D workcell
  • Creating AVI video files of production operations
  • Use of the measuring tools and other tools within the WeldPRO software
  • Calibration of a virtual workcell to match the Real World workcell
  • Understanding and use of WeldPRO software and how it can improve welding production operations as well as making changes, testing, and troubleshooting welding production programs

This course consists of content descriptions and examples, interactive modules, and lesson reviews designed to reinforce what the student has learned. A post-test is used to measure the student’s mastery of the objectives.
