JR Automation & Plus One Robotics

Automated solution for warehousing, e-commerce and logistics

FANUC America and its Authorized System Integrator JR Automation collaborated with Plus One Robotics to design an automated robotic solution to de-palletize a random mix of products to meet the growing demands of the warehousing, e-commerce and logistics industries. The products represent a wide range of materials, sizes and shapes in random order – and often include visual obstructions.

The solution uses Plus One Robotics’ human/robot collaboration approach.Vision-guided robots seamlessly de-palletize mixed loads about 95% of the time. When issues arise that prevent the robot from “seeing” a product – or corner case – an operator takes over control. This shared autonomy between the robot and an operator has proven ideal in helping customers meet their go-to-market strategies. In addition, it has elevated the operators’ jobs by eliminating the monotonous tasks of de-palletizing products to higher value work in managing the automation.
