KYOCERA was working with older machines that didn’t perform consistently well enough to meet industry standards or demand. They tapped United Grinding to rebuild their machines with newer technology. United Grinding equipped these rebuilt machines with FANUC controls and robots to improve their performance, resulting in machines that were able to maintain consistently high standards of precision, faster processing speeds, and minimized downtime.
The United Grinding rebuild process has been very successful from our point of view. The machines have come back and gone back into operation within 12 hours, from receiving the machine to being back into production. The FANUC controls, we have found, are very dependable along with the robot. Our in-house maintenance [staff] are very well-versed in FANUC controls. It is to our advantage to use FANUC.
