Painting Robots
Painting, Coating and Finishing Robots
Designed and built in Michigan since 1982, FANUC paint robots are suitable for a wide variety of painting, powder/liquid coating and fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP Chop/Gel) applications. We have the industry’s widest range of paint robots to boost operations and keep workers safe by automating tasks that could potentially expose them to harmful chemicals.
The benefits of automating painting and coating processes include better, consistent, and higher quality finishes as well as accurately applying the correct amount of material each time, which reduces wasted product. Profitability increases with more efficient production, helping you to meet increasing demand without needing to hire more workers in a challenging labor market.
FANUC’s painting robots offer a wide range of reaches and handling capacities, including some models designed and certified to operate in hazardous environments. Whatever your painting and finishing requirements, there is a FANUC paint or dispensing robot to meet your needs.

Cobots and Robots for Painting, Coating, Spraying and Other Finishing Applications
FANUC America has a full range of painting and coating cobots and robots to help manufacturers drastically improve their paint and finishing processes. The offerings below are organized by the models appropriate for the specific application.
Paint Cobots for General Industry
Collaborative robots, or cobots, provide an ideal automation solution for manufacturers with limited robotic experience by enhancing consistency and safety in painting and coating processes. They ensure flawless finishes, reduce material waste through precise dispensing, and safely operate alongside human workers, minimizing exposure to hazardous conditions while improving workplace safety and productivity.
Paint Robots for Automotive Door & Hood Applications
This selection of FANUC’s paint robots is perfect for automating smaller and hard-to-reach automotive parts painting and finishing. Many of the top automotive plants use FANUC paint robots to boost their door and hood painting applications.
Benefits of Using FANUC Paint Robots
Improved Safety
FANUC painting robots are finished and certified here in the US to ensure the highest level of safety, performance and quality is achieved, including approving the robots’ ability to safely work in hazardous painting environments.
Uniformity of Coating
Robotic arms can move at a constant speed, ensuring an even coating across surfaces. Plus, painting robots offer precision and repeatability to give a consistent finish each time.
Reduction in Material Usage and Waste
With paint robots, the right amount of paint and/or finishing product is applied correctly and consistently. Even coatings ensure no extra coating material, which saves costs, as well as the desired finish will be achieved, which reduces scrap product.
Increased Productivity
Painting robots can significantly boost production and efficiency, enabling increases in demand to be met without needing to hire extra staff.
Worker Safety
Robots automating painting, powder coating, liquid and fiberglass applications keep workers from working with potentially harmful fumes and chemicals.

Software, Accessories & Options for FANUC Paint Robots
FANUC has software and other automation paint products that help implement the paint robots faster and more easily.
ROBOGUIDE PaintPRO
PaintPRO software is a graphical offline programming solution that simplifies robotic path teaching and paint process development. PaintPRO is specifically designed to create paths that can be utilized by FANUC America Corporation's PaintTool™ application software.
PaintTool
PaintTool has built-in software to help control the paint robot from the teach pendant. Great for displaying paint settings and creating and managing job data on the shopfloor at the robot.
PaintWorks IV
FANUC America’s PAINTworks IV provides the necessary tools for an integrated paint shop control system. Offering centralized cell-level control, PAINTworks IV interfaces with all paint system robots, reciprocators and bell zones.
Visual Tracking for PaintTool
This software provides part offsets for robots utilizing the FANUC RVision 3DV Vision Sensor. The visual tracking integrates with the robot controller, so an external Vision Panel is not needed.
AccuChop
AccuChop provides fluid flow control for gelcoat & chopped fiberglass applications. It integrates directly with the robot controller, so an external control panel is not needed. Also, glass breakage detection is available.
Easy Teach
First-time users can easily program painting robots with the “Easy Teach” feature. Users can hand guide the robot for easier and quicker startup. The robot will copy the path that the manual operator taught it.
VERSABELL III
The VersaBell III paint applicator is an electrostatic rotary atomizer designed for high-performance, robotic bell spray applications. This “versatile” device applies a variety of solvent-based automotive topcoat materials with an adjustable small to large painting pattern. WB/SB & 1k/2k Compatible.
Integrated Pump Control (IPC)
The IPC is a gear pump-based fluid delivery system that is WB/SB & 1k/2k compatible. The accessory offers precise control via in-arm servo motors that are integrated with color change valves.
Integrated Canister System (ICS)
The ICS is a canister-based fluid delivery system that has a waterborne direct charge. The accessory offers precise control via in-arm servo motors that are integrated with color change valves.
