Story
Stober Drives is an international manufacturer of gearboxes as well as other motor products, with U.S. machining operations in Maysville, KY. This location has 13 machines equipped with FANUC controls, 0iF, and 31iBs. The shop made the switch to mostly FANUC from other brands of controls because they liked having a standardized operational look and feel. A few years ago, the shop wanted a better way to track metrics in order to make data-driven decisions about operations and investments. After seeing FANUC’s data analytics platform MT-LINKi featured on FANUC’s website, they received a demo and purchased the solution. After a few years, MT-LINKi has helped Stober optimize their operations, identify inefficiencies and drive profitability. They also faced a skilled labor shortage in the area, so the company began using FANUC CNC Simulators and Manual Guide I to help train their CNC operators.
The way that our industry is right now, things are very stressful. With supply chain crunches, customers are ordering more and more product and just having this tool at hand helps us increase our utilization and our productivity. It’s a game changer for us.
