FANUC America will demonstrate a wide range of automation technologies at the IMTS Smartforce Student Summit, Sept.12-17 at McCormick Place in Chicago, booths #215500 and #215124.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – (August 25, 2022) – FANUC America, the leader in CNC systems, robotics and ROBOMACHINEs will demonstrate a wide range of automation technologies at the IMTS Smartforce Student Summit, Sept.12-17 at McCormick Place in Chicago, booths #215500 and #215124.

“Companies that implement advanced automation need employees with the skills to keep production running smoothly,” said Paul Aiello, Executive Director of Education, FANUC America.  “Our goal at IMTS is to demonstrate to students, instructors and job-seekers that certified training in robotics, CNC systems and industry 4.0 technologies will result in high-paying and fulfilling careers.”

FANUC’s two locations will offer a mix of learning and fun activities for students to see and experience real-world automation, including:

-FANUC’s latest CRX cobots will be a highlight -- two will be featured on an interactive tower display, and four will provide visitors the opportunity to try the CRX’s intuitive hand guidance and easy-to-use tablet programming.

-A simulation tower will include three FANUC CNC Simulators offering hands-on, realistic training on FANUC controls without the need for an actual CNC machine. Another station will display ROBOGUIDE, FANUC’s robot simulation software allowing users to create, program and simulate a robotic workcell in 3D without the physical need and expense of a prototype workcell setup.

-A running back challenge will give people a chance to take on a FANUC LR Mate 200iD robot by passing a handheld ring along a zigzagged route.

-Two high-speed FANUC M-1iA/0.5A robots will pick and sort pills of different colors using 2D iRvision® and students will try to pick and sort the pills faster than the robots.

-A machine load/unload cell featuring a Levil CNC with a FANUC LR Mate 200iD/4S robot.

-Two standard education cart cells, each with a FANUC ER4 robot – one enclosed and one fenceless.

-A giant robot cutout for people of all ages to take selfies and post to their favorite social media.

Today, over 1,400 schools throughout North America have implemented FANUC’s education certification program, helping the current and next generation workforce become automation experts.   Having a skilled workforce is vital for companies looking to keep up with increasing customer demands, and fuels the growth of manufacturing in North America.

Instructors, students and parents who are interested in learning more about careers based on Industry 4.0 technologies should register today – it’s FREE to attend!
