PaintTool Operations and Programming

This 4-day (32 hours) course covers the tasks that an operator, technician, engineer or programmer needs to setup, record and/or troubleshoot programs on a FANUC Robot using PaintTool Software.

Target Audience: Virtual training is not for everyone. Students must have a high degree of comfort with learning in a virtual environment which includes completing exercises using Roboguide.

Prerequisites: Students are required to install an external app (Cornerstone) and complete preparatory work, that your instructor will send out to you. A computer connected to the internet and the ability to receive mail delivery of a paper manual. Two monitors and headphones with a microphone. Course Objectives: Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

• Power up and jog the robot
• Backup and Restore files
• Perform simple error recovery procedures
• Define Cartesian coordinate frames
• Create Process, Job, and Macro programs
• Test programs
• Add instructions to a program
• Edit programs in Teach mode
• Edit programs in Automatic mode
• Shift and mirror image programs
• Setup paint parameters

The topics covered will be robot/controller specific. System concerns will be covered in the system courses.

The course consists of lectures, chapter reviews, demonstrations and a series of lab exercises designed to reinforce what the student has learned. In addition to lab exercises, a pre-test and a post-test are used to measure mastery of objectives.
