Dual Check Safety R-30iA/B/B Plus

Course Description

This 3-day (24 hours) course covers the tasks that a technician, programmer or engineer would need to setup and use FANUC's Dual Check Safety (DCS) software. This class is specific to robots with version 7.5 and newer software.

Target Audience: Virtual training is not for everyone. Students must have a high degree of comfort with learning in a virtual environment which includes completing exercises using Roboguide. This course is intended for the person who must setup an R-30iA (software version 7.5 and Newer) or R-30iB FANUC robot controller with DCS software installed, and who has taken an in-person instructor led class such as HandlingTool.

Prerequisites: Completion of a live, FANUC instructor-led Operation and Programming course (such as HandlingTool, ArcTool, or SpotTool). Completion of an online eLearn Operation and Programming course will not meet this Operation and Programming prerequisite. Students who have attended a class more than four years in the past are required to pass a preparatory test prior to attending the class. Students must be able to log into the Academy URL while in class, to access learning materials. Students are required to install an external app (Cornerstone) and complete preparatory work, that your instructor will send out to you. A computer connected to the internet and the ability to receive mail delivery of a paper manual. Two monitors and headphones with a microphone. Completion of all steps listed in the enrollment confirmation email. If you did not receive the email, contact us at 888-826-8287 x4.

Course Objectives: Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Understand the DCS menus
  • Setup and modify DCS General parameters
  • Setup and modify DCS Position/Speed Check parameters
  • Create user models and DCS frames
  • Setup and modify DCS Safe I/O parameters

This course consists of lectures, chapter reviews, demonstrations, and a series of lab exercises designed to reinforce what the student has learned. In addition to lab exercises, a pre-test and a post-test are used to measure mastery of objectives.
