HandlingPRO Intro Plus (RoboGuide)

Course Description

This 3-day (24 hours) course covers the tasks that an operator, technician, engineer or programmer need for creating a HandlingPRO virtual workcell using Roboguide v9. Target Audience: Virtual training is not for everyone. Students must have a high degree of comfort with learning in a virtual environment which includes completing exercises using Roboguide. This course is designed for application engineers who need to design robotic workcells, perform cycle time, reachability studies, or generate robot paths. Prerequisites: Completion of a live or virtual FANUC instructor-led HandlingTool Operations and Programming course. Completion of an online HandlingTool eLearn will not meet this prerequisite. The student needs to be familiar with teach pendant menus, jogging, frames, positional information, basic programming, and fault recovery of the robot prior to attendance in this class. Students who have attended a class more than four years in the past are required to pass a preparatory test prior to attending the class. Students must be able to log into the Academy URL while in class, to access learning materials. Course Objectives:

  • Understand the difference between a real and virtual teach pendant
  • Jog the robot using alternative methods to the traditional teach pendant method
  • Add and define parts, fixtures, and EOAT for the purpose of picking and placing
  • Setup an extended axis as well as additional motion groups
  • Create and modify programs with the simulation editor and program generator using CAD to path analyze
  • Program execution with the Task Profiler
  • Understand different methods for matching a real workcell to a virtual workcell
  • Understand how to coordinate the motion between two robots using I/O interconnect

This course consists of lectures, chapter reviews, demonstrations, and a series of lab exercises designed to reinforce what the student has learned. In addition to lab exercises, a pre-test and a post-test are used to measure mastery of objectives.
